About Me

I grew up on a grain farm, where fixing equipment and putting in long days was just part of everyday life. My dad worked as a gas plant operator, and my grandfather on my mom’s side was a licensed mechanic — so hands-on problem-solving runs in the family. I got my start in a small shop in Linden, Alberta, welding safety props for grain boxes right out of high school. Before long, I was mounting grain boxes onto trucks and eventually building them from scratch.

A few years later, after completing my apprenticeship and earning my Red Seal, I moved into oilfield fabrication. I spent years in shops building skids and compressors while working toward my B Pressure ticket. Once I had it, I was fabricating and rolling out everything from large pipe spools to stainless TIG work — laying TIG roots and finishing with stick or metal-cored wire. I put roughly a decade into shop fabrication before moving into maintenance: first up north at Kearl for a year, then out west near Sundre, where I spent four years running their welding truck.

Alongside that, I volunteered part-time with our local fire department for about 20 years. Through that experience, I completed my 10-01 courses (minus a few industrial live fire courses that weren’t available to our small department) and learned a lot about teamwork, discipline, and staying calm under pressure.

After running trucks for several companies and gaining pipeline and mobile fabrication experience, I decided to strike out on my own — and that’s how Norseman’s Arc Ltd. was born. Since then, I’ve worked on maintenance projects north of Fort McMurray, fabrication in my own shop, power plant construction, and more. Each step along the way has reinforced what I value most: quality work, strong relationships, and bringing a personal touch to every job.
